Westgate Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort, Myrtle Beach

My stay at the Westgate was a mix of positives and negatives. The location was fantastic, right by the beach, which made enjoying the sun a breeze. However, the rooms left much to be desired. They felt damp, with an unpleasant smell, and overall were quite outdated. The elevator situation was a mess, and I often found myself frustrated. While the pools looked promising, I didn’t get to enjoy them as much as I wished due to the room issues and noise from construction.

My stay was quite enjoyable overall, thanks to the friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. The resort's location is perfect, just a short walk from the beach and attractions. However, the housekeeping could have been a lot better as I noticed some cleanliness issues and my room had a few maintenance problems like a leaky faucet. Additionally, the rates for pet accommodation struck me as overly steep, which slightly dampened my experience.

My recent stay at the Westgate resort was a mixed bag. On the bright side, the location near the beach and local attractions was really enjoyable. However, the overall experience fell short due to outdated rooms and subpar service. While there were aspects I appreciated, like the layout of the facilities, I wouldn't say the hotel met expectations for a resort experience.
